One Freak Show Promo Video

Check out the 5 minute promo video of Lynnee Breedlove's ONE FREAK SHOW as well as other excerpts.

Saturdays in October 2005: One Freak Show.

Lynnee Breedlove's ONE FREAK SHOW: Less Rock, More Hilarity is back with Meliza Banales and the Oakland Fejacks radical cheerleaders opening. It's queer homohop punkrock standup comedy on transgender bodies, feminism, family, and "community." His plan for world peace includes gender nesting dolls, cross-dressing stuffed animals, and a new edition of Our Bodies Ourselves for men.

Annie Sprinkle, Keith Hennessey, and Michelle Tea loved it. Jello Biafra, famous shit-stirring straight non-trans guy, says: "The best Tribe 8 show I ever saw was when Lynnee went off on these comic tangents between songs and cracked me up as much as any great comedian I've ever seen. Breedlove sings, writes, now brace yourself for a razor-sharp storyteller. Get in on the ground floor - see this show. A true renaissance rabble-rouser, the sky's the limit."

Breedlove is the singer/lyricist for Tribe 8, author of the novel Godspeed, co-host of K'vetsch queer open mic for 8 years, voted Best of the Bay, and DJ on the Unka Lynnee and Aunty Cindy show (pirate radio's freak answer to LoveLine on streaming audio piratecatradio.com and 87.9 on your dial), bringing queer and trans music and opinionated opinions to the airwaves. Shim is currently working on Godspeed, the movie.

WHEN: October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 at 10pm.

WHERE: The Dark Room, 2263 Mission St, SF (bet 18th & 19th St)

July 12, 2005 - Skye and Slade.
We have one new member, and one not so new. Actually, neither of them are really new, and one of them is downright not-new. It's like this—

Skye (from Lynnee's homohop project SLAMB) is now an official member of the band, playing sequencer and rhythm guitar, as well as backup vocals.

Our old-school drummer Slade has returned to slap our skins. She's also currently playing with the punk band Butt Trumpet, previously known as Betty Blowtorch, and now known as Butt Trumpet again. Long story.

March 16, 2005 - Light Fuse and Run Away.
Actually, we'll be running toward it, 'cuz that's what we do: Tribe 8 is playing the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival this year. Yes, really. Look for us on the Day Stage on Friday, August 19. Get your tickets now!

March 12, 2005 - No, Thank You.
...to all y'all who made last night's farewell show at the Cherry Bar the nutty good time it was. Check back for our next (final) show date.

Just because Tribe 8 is breaking up doesn't mean you can't always carry us in your hearts...or on your head with an official Tribe 8 Shim Shader Herm Lid! Caffeine fiend? Studies have proven (no, really!) that it goes down better with the equally official 20 Cups A Joe Mug. (Mmmm. Coffee.) And who better to keep you company on those cold, lonely nights than a Squishy Whomper Bear? All this and heck of a lot more is available at the CafePress Tribe 8 Online Store. Rock on wit yer Stud-Boy Boxers on!

The Saddest Poem Of All:
Tribe 8 Is Ending.

January 21, 2005 - That's right. It's been a great ride, but it's time to move on. We'd like to thank all of you for your love and support over the last fifteen years.

Don't despair just yet, though—if you've never seen us live, or want to before it's all over, you can! We're lining up some farewell gigs, the first of which will be on Wednesday, February 16th at the Elbo Room in San Francisco. (See Show Dates for more details.) We're also hoping to do one big everlovin' blowout of a last show, at a swanktastic place like the Carnegie or the Fillmore or even good ol' Michigan. If you can help make that happen, email us.

November 18, 2004 - Breedlove on the air
Our own Lynn Breedlove now has her own radio show! Check out Unka Lynnee's Academy for Ladeez and Gentlemen, every Thursday night from 6 to 8pm on Pirate Cat Radio, 87.9fm in San Francisco. If you don't live in the City, you can listen online here.
